Busy Working Short Film - Music Video by Zahir Muhammad

"This video is, to this day, my most hectic and work-intensive creation."

Zahir's friend and contemporary, cinematographer Seung Lee, flew to Baton Rouge from New York and stayed over at his apartment for the film. They worked for three days straight, along with close friends and creative assistants, to perfect ‘Busy Working’. Each night, they would storyboard and plan the direction and scene order for the video. During the day, they would drive around the city and shoot each scene. In between all of that.

These two coinciding events pushed me to the realization that Zahir found more pleasure in being behind the camera directing. From there, he founded Project Innovate Studios, which is a multi-hyphenate Fashion Collective. On the Fashion Committee, there are 14 different individuals who specialize in different forms of art, and all found roots in Louisiana at some point in their careers. The 2022 Fashion Experience (March 2022) was, for him, the epitome of a directorial debut on a large stage. Since then, Zahir has released a personally curated music album (From a Potter’s Hands) and worked on various photo design projects and magazine features.
